Matt Dubois founded Maine CannaCounsel, one of Maine's first cannabis law firms, in 2015 to protect the rights of Maine medical cannabis patients and caregivers, and now works with adult use cannabis businesses.  He assists clients with all aspects of Maine's medical and adult use cannabis laws, including licensing, business formation and operation, compliance, local zoning, land use planning, and permitting, and representation before state agencies and courts.  He is an advocate for clear laws and rules that patients and cannabis businesses can follow without unnecessary risk of criminal liability. 

 

Raised in Maine, Matt obtained his Bachelor's degree in English from the State University of New York (SUNY) Geneseo, where he met his wife, Mary Ann.  Matt graduated cum laude from Buffalo School of Law in 2013, where he edited the Buffalo Environmental Law Journal.  He lives near Bangor, Maine with his wife, son, and dog, and enjoys hiking, running, kayaking, and camping.
